Threnody for Strings
In 1991 I wrote a suite for piano called ‘A Musical Calendar’ with a piece for each month. This Threnody is an arrangement made a few years later of the November movement: a sorrowful, plaintive piece in triple time. The strings at Dean Close played it several times, notably on their tour to the Czech Republic in 1996, including in a concert at the Hussite Museum in Tabor.
