Concertino for Three Winds
The Concertino for three winds was composed in 2003 for three Music Scholars at Millfield school. Each player – flute, oboe and clarinet – is the soloist for one movement, and then takes their place in the orchestra for the other two movements. Just before the end, all three play their main theme in counterpoint together. The orchestra also requires a bassoon, horn, trumpet, 3 percussionists, harp and strings. The whole works lasts around 14 minutes.
